Vanderbilt Vines is a family-owned winery in Vanderbilt, Michigan, rooted in passion, adventure, and community. What started in 2020 with our first vines has grown into something truly special, nurtured by our family and the countless friends we affectionately call our “volunteer army” — coming up every season to help plant, tend, and harvest grapes.

A Journey of Passion

The story began with Dwayne, a Ford engineer downstate who decided to take a leap in retirement and follow a dream up north. Together with his wife Patricia, they set out to create a winery that reflected their love for family, land, and Northern Michigan. Each season brought new challenges, new lessons, and more reasons to celebrate the journey — with family, friends, and wine.

Meet Our Family

Josh Atkins, their son, is a farmer and winemaker in training, learning every step of the process to craft wines that reflect the vineyard and the land.

Ashley Tilley, their daughter, manages the tasting room, welcoming guests and sharing the story of Vanderbilt Vines with warmth and care.

A Place for Everyone

Vanderbilt Vines is designed to be a cozy, family-friendly destination. From grape stomping and a playful corn sandbox for kids to live music and seasonal events, we want every guest to feel like part of our story.
